Executive VP Industrial Gases


Corning F. Painter is executive vice president, Industrial Gases, at Air Products. Mr. Painter has overall responsibility for the company’s worldwide Industrial Gases business, including Merchant, Tonnage, Microbulk and Packaged Gases, and HyCO.

 

Mr. Painter joined Air Products in 1984 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program and subsequently progressed through a variety of commercial and operating positions. In 1992 he joined the Electronics Division, where he led the company’s MEGASYS™ on-site services business and semiconductor business development department. In 1996 Mr. Painter relocated to Austin, Texas, where he managed the mid-America electronics business, and in 2000 he was appointed general manager of the European Electronics Division. He relocated to Asia in 2002 as the regional vice president for Air Products Asia Electronics. In 2004 Mr. Painter was appointed regional vice president, Asia Electronics, and additionally was named chairman of Air Products San Fu―a majority-owned joint venture company in Taiwan. He was named vice president and general manager, Global Electronics, in October 2006 and subsequently returned to the U.S. after 11 years overseas. Mr. Painter was appointed senior vice president, Corporate Strategy and Technology, in 2011; senior vice president, Supply Chain, in 2012; and senior vice president and general manager, Merchant Gases, in 2013.

 

Mr. Painter holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and is a Certified Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.

 

Mr. Painter is a member of the board of directors for the International Oxygen Manufacturers Association. In the local community, he serves on the board of directors for Valley Youth House.
