Dr. White is a Chemical Engineer and has been with Air Products since 1994, after having completed a PhD at Imperial College London on Dynamic Optimisation of Process Plants. He worked for many years developing technology forcarbon dioxide (CO2) capture, particularly efficient process cycles for CO2 purification from oxyfuel-fired coal plants, culminating in the world’s first demonstration of auto-refrigerated nitrogen+oxygen removal from CO2 at Vattenfall’s Schwarze Pumpe Oxycoal pilot plant. Having worked on CO2 purification, Dr. White was able to take what he learnt and apply that to recovering helium from CO2, which was the challenge faced in Air Products’ Doe Canyon project.

Dr. White has more than 20 US patents awarded in areas such as CO2 purification and helium recovery, and in excess of 30 conference and journal papers to his name.
