Hector Villarreal is the President and Co-owner of Weldcoa. In the early 90’s he was part of the management team that transitioned Weldcoa from a general welding fabricator into a manufacturer of equipment and services for the compressed gas industry.
In 2000 Hector and his business partner purchased Weldcoa from their former employer. Over the next twenty years he has overseen the development of many innovations in automation and process for the industrial, medical and specialty gas industries.
Throughout his twenty-seven years in the compressed gas industry, Hector has served on several industry boards and committees. Most notably he served for ten years as a Gas and Welding Distributor Association (GAWDA) Regional Chair. He also served on the American Welding Society’s (AWS) WEMCO Board for ten years and was the WEMCO Chairman in 2011.
Hector currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) and as member of the Waubonsee Community College’s Foundation Board.
He has traveled globally as an industry speaker, presenting on technology, automation, palletization and cylinder filling process. He has also authored many articles for various industry publications.
Hector lives with his wife and kids in Naperville, IL. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting pop art, reading and the occasional round of golf.
He is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago (91) where he received a BA in Marketing.
