A native of France, Ms. Thurston holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Russian from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and is a CFA charterholder. Ms. Thurston began her career in the Washington DC area in 2000, working in a series of financial risk assignments through 2006, including for Freddie Mac as a counterparty credit risk analyst. After becoming a CFA charterholder, Ms. Thurston worked for Friedman Billings and Ramsey as an energy and natural resources investment banking associate until 2008. In 2008, Ms. Thurston joined the AES Corporation and her various assignments included power contract structuring and a strategy role in pursuit of the Company’s growth and capital allocation strategy. In 2013, Ms. Thurston moved to Texas to join ExxonMobil Corporation—where her first position involved working to structure LNG into power contracts. She then directly supported the Vice President of LNG in an executive advisor role. In 2017, Ms. Thurston began supporting the ExxonMobil Wyoming assets as Account Manager for Helium and CO2 sales. Her role has expanded, and she is now responsible for the commercial team in Wyoming, with a responsibility to maximize the value of the company’s Wyoming assets. This includes managing the day-to-day commercial operations and pursuing business development opportunities that are complementary with the Labarge Asset, including growing EM’s carbon capture and storage capacity. Ms. Thurston is married with 2 children, and in her free time enjoys skiing and a variety of other outdoor activities.
