Dr. Herzog joined the Messer Group GmbH in Krefeld in 2004, and holds the position of Senior Manager Application Technology Industry. He started at Messer Griesheim GmbH in 1990 in the Engineering Department in Duisburg. From then he then held many positions including gas research & development, global application technology and sales strategy application technology.

Dr. Herzog was also a visiting lecturer of University of Applied Science Niederrhein from 1998–2003.
