John R. Campbell is the President of J. R. Campbell & Assoc., Inc., doing business as Intelligas Consulting, the premier consulting firm dedicated to servicing the needs of the US and international industrial, medical, and specialty gases community, together with US and international technology companies which design/build production, distribution, and applications systems to service the industrial gases business. Helium has been an important part of the firm’s practice for the past 35 years.

The company has performed a significant number of helium studies analysing and forecasting supply/demand, supply chain economics including cost/price, sourcing strategies, and player strategies, as well as those on helium production, distribution, and applications. Clients include virtually all helium supply side players, some of the major customers, and potential helium investors.

Prior to forming J.R. Campbell & Associates, Inc. in 1981, Campbell held management and executive positions with two leading industrial gas companies. His last position was as executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Burdox, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio (later, AGA Gas, Inc, and now part of Linde AG).

Campbell has served as president and board member of IOMA (International Oxygen Manufacturers Association), has been active in the CGA (Compressed Gas Association), GAWDA (Gases & Welding Distributor Association), and several associations of gas-using industry and service sectors.

Campbell has an engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Lehigh University. He served in the US Navy as a regular officer and carrier pilot from 1957 to 1962.
